January Favorites

Beauty: Well I haven't bought anything new in the beauty department this month and I know, bad me! I just didn't have much extra money from after Christmas but if you want to know what make up I have been using lately you can see it in my 2013 favorites blog post!

Non-Beauty: This month I have been loving making home made macaroons! It's pretty easy and there are a lot of YouTube tutorials about how to make them, which leads me to my next Non-Beauty favorite of the month: My Favorite YouTubers for the month. I have been watching MacBarbie07 & Zoella a lot and everyone definitely needs to check them out! They are also beauty bloggers and they both recently made videos on how to make home made macaroons! These two YouTubers are actually who inspired me to start this blog (Zoella has one http://www.zoella.co.uk/) and maybe I will make YouTube videos in the future?

Music:
Love me again- John Newman
This song has recently been on the radio and it was one of those songs that you just love right away. I remember I was in the car with my friends and the song came on an it this sounds cheesy but it made the moment feel perfect. It was one of those small moments that just make you happy. Like I said cheesy but oh, well! It's a very upbeat fun song that I love listening to all the time.
Best Day of my Life- American Authors
This song made my favorites list because every time I hear it it makes me feel really happy. The lyrics are about letting go and having fun and it being the best day of your life! It's good to listen to if you are having kind of a poopy day because it just makes you feel better and it's really catchy!
Bastille- Pompeii
This song I like because it's catchy but also I feel like the lyrics have meaning to them. I love when he says "how am I gonna be an optimist about this?" because I feel like (me especially) people need to ask themselves that question when faced with things that they might not want to do or don't like or even just ask themselves that about life everyday! I feel like life is a lot better with a positive attitude and I feel like this is kinda what the song is about.
AM- Arctic Monkeys
This is an album I have been listening to a lot recently. If you aren't a fan of indie rock music I don't think this album is good for you. They kind of remind me of The Neighbourhood or I should say The Neighbourhood reminds me of them? Anyways it's their newest album and a good album all around and my favorite songs are Do I wanna Know?, Why'd You Only Call Me When Your High?, Knee Socks, R U Mine?, and Snap Out of It.
Infinity on High- Fall Out Boy
I know, I know, this album came out like 7 years ago but I have just been listening to it a lot this month! If you don't listen to Fall Out Boy something is wrong with you. I am going to see them in July and I am so excited! It will be my first time seeing them live. My favorite songs on this album are Don't You Know Who I Think I am?, This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race, Golden, The Take Over, The Breaks Over, and You're Crashing but You're No Wave. So like all of them haha. This is my second favorite album by them, From Under the Cork Tree being the first.

Inspiration Friday- Fashion

I thought it would be really fun if I started blogging on Fridays talking about the thing that inspired me during the week! This week I wanted to focus on what, or I should say who, inspired me in the fashion world. I will actually be talking about two people in particular: the Jenner sisters. They have been like the "it" girls for a long time and now with their line of clothes that you can find at Pacsun you can dress like them too! Every time I watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians I always love what Kendall and Kylie are wearing and I want it all! haha Anyways these are the outfits that I have chosen to talk about...

First off I want to talk about Kendall,

Outfit #1

I have noticed that a lot of the things she wears are pretty basic things: white muscle tee, black leggings and black high heels. I really like it (because let's be honest it makes shopping a lot easier) haha but other than that a lot of people can't exactly pull that look off in a way that I mean it doesn't look boring on her as it would on some people. With this outfit you could totally find or make it yourself using little to no money! My favorite thing about this outfit though is her pants. At the top it looks like comfortable leggings and the bottom half it looks like leather pants. I have always wanted to wear leather pants but I don't think I could pull them off to be honest. Anyway this is a great outfit that is very simple looking but also easy to throw on in the morning. I would give this outfit an 8/10!

Outfit #2

This picture was taken during Fashion week in New York. I always have loved these light blue jean jackets I think they are so fun and cute and go with a lot of different clothing pieces, except jeans obviously, or at least I hope that was obvious...Again this is a very simple outfit with a black shirt layered with a light blue jean jacket, high waisted black pants that look like they are made of velvet and black high heels with a rounded looking heel. Then she pulled her hair back into a simple high pony tail and topped it off with black rimmed glasses that are always fun to wear even if you don't wear glasses. Over all I give this outfit a 7.5/10

Now for Kylie...

Outfit #1

This outfit is definitely my favorite I absolutely love it. I feel like this is something I would wear a lot if I owned it. It is a simple black tee tucked into a leather black skater skirt. To me this outfit just looks really comfortable and if there is a chance to be comfortable and look cute, trust me, I am wearing it. The tee-shirt looks a bit over sized without making her look fat at all and skater skirts are always a cute option.  I would give this outfit a 9/10

Outfit #2

This one is a really casual but cute look. This outfit makes me really miss summer. She is wearing a muscle tank, distressed high waisted shorts and cute black boots. I love this look because it looks really...hipster I guess? It just looks like something I would wear on a casual summer day and wouldn't be hard to recreate at all! I give this outfit a 8/10!

So I hope you enjoyed reading this! I am planning on doing this every Friday and I know I have been
sporadically posting but now that finals week is over and I am comfortable in my new schedule at school I will be posting every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday!

Would you guys like if I maybe did a D.I.Y outfits using these pictures next week?
What is your Fashion inspiration of the week?

Stay warm and have a great weekend! Love you, -Ashley

Fixing the Skin You're in

 Hello Lovelies!

So today I wanted to talk about your skin. It is so important to make sure it is always looking it's best and I just wanted to make a post about the things that I do to take care of mine! I have never had too much struggle when it came to acne but I think part of that has to do with these products that I use. I'm not saying that these products are going to make you have great skin but I had definitely noticed a difference because my skin has looked more glowing and soft after using them.

This is 100% Pure JoJoba Oil that I bought at Trader Joe's. The oil is really good because you can use it for so many different things. You can use it to moisturize your hair, you can put it in a bath, or you can use it to help exfoliate/moisturize your skin. About once a day I mix this with baking soda(a natural exfoliante) and it makes my skin look and feel so soft.

This is Vitamin E Oil also from Trader Joe's. Vitamin E is really great for your skin. It is like an antioxidant for your skin and helps prevent signs of aging and keeps it soft and young looking, not that I'm all that worried about aging yet. I usually rub a thin layer around my face and let it sink into my skin for around 10-15 minutes after washing it or showering and rinse any excess oil from my face. Its best to use after you have used warm or hot water on your face because then it can really sink into your pores. I have noticed my face looks more alive and glowing after using the oil which is amazing and I just love it!

This next product is called Witch Hazel with aloe vera that also was purchased at Trader Joe's. I honestly think it should be like a law or something to have this. It is a life saver when it comes to getting rid of pimples. It is a liquid that you can just put on toilet paper or a cloth and wipe it on your face and neck. It takes away the bad oil in your skin without drying it out. It is also good for the summer time when you get sunburns it helps take away the stinging and helps heal it faster. I recommend buying the one with aloe vera added because aloe vera is also really good for your skin. Also if you are in a hurry and don't have time to wash your face it is perfect for a quick face wash substitute! Anyway buy this ASAP if you don't already own it because it will change your life.

The one on the left is Clean & Clear Foaming Facial Cleanser and the second one is Neutrogena Acne Stress Control. I like the first one because I feel like it's just like a basic face cleanser and does a good job at making your face feel clean. The second one I think smells like watermelon so I like using it. But other then that its great at exfoliating and leaves your skin feeling really clean.

This is the 365 Moisturizing Lotion. Moisturizing is a step that a lot of people don't do or just forget to do but it is really important. If you don't moisturize then the oil levels in your face could get all wacky and cause more pimples later on because your skin is going to try and make more oil to make up for the oil that was lost after washing it. Any moisturizer will work fine but this is just the one I use and it does its job very well.

Other Tips:
-Wash your face 2-3 times a day
-Moisturize 1-2 a day
-Fish Oil is a great pill to take for your skin and hair
-Don't eat too much junk food
-Remove your makeup every night before bed
-Drink a lot of water

Straighten Up!

This year I have a very good Christmas with some really awesome presents. But I am not going to talk about all of them, don't worry. There is one present in particular that I want to discuss though, and that is my new straightener!
The straightener is a very pretty red color with tan colored ceramic heating plates. I used this for the first time this morning and I was really happy with it! After applying an unnecessary amount of heat protector (gotta protect those long locks!) I found this straightener to be very fast when heating up which is very nice when in a hurry (okay, so I might have over slept a bit). It heats from about 140 F - 450 F (or 60 C -  230 C) so it is great for any hair type. This also comes with a lifetime warranty and if you are clumsy like me that is great news to hear. I have only had two other straighteners in my life but this one is defiantly the best. It coasts around $59.99-$84.95 so it is more on the expensive side but it is defiantly a good investment to make and your hair will thank you!

This is the box that the Straightener had came in. There are magnets to help keep it closed, so that's fancy!

Mood: Excited

So after New Years the rest of winter is just boring. But I have always kinda liked January because that is when all of my favorite shows start to come back on TV! I know I know I sound like a loser but c'mon what teenage girl isn't excited for either Teen Wolf of Pretty Little Liars to come back on? Plus, even though January kinda sucks because it's cold we can just be positive here!
I actually recently started watching Teen Wolf and that may or may not have spent most of my winter break watching it...but anyways I am now finally caught up and have recently watched the trailer for the rest of season 3 and it looks so great! The trailer and the commercials that I have seen look so intense and to be quite honest pretty creepy as well. It also looks as if there is going to be another girl for Scott?? But trust me if you haven't started watching this show you defiantly want to(all 3 seasons are on on demand at the moment) all of the guys are extremely attractive and there is always something intense happening. Oh, and I am for sure marrying Dylan O'brien.

Now for Pretty Little Liars. I have been hooked on this show for so long, I absolutely love it. For starters I love all of their outfits, they all have their own unique style but I love them all (mostly Arias). But I am still so excited to see what happens since Allison is back. It was so crazy that Ezera is  A or part of A? I am not sure but I am really hoping it is his way to protect Aria or a miss understanding or something because I really like Ezera! but he was the guy in the gas mask suit I guess? I am really sad that this kinda might be the last season because what am I supposed to do on Tuesday night? haha

2013 Favorites

This past year I have been experimenting with a lot of different make up and a lot of different make up companies. Some I have really enjoyed, even though some of them I didn't think I would, and some of them I haven't liked at all but so far these are the ones that have came out on top of my list for 2013!

Volum' Express Mascara by Maybelline: Personally I have always loved Maybelline, especially their mascaras. I got this for Christmas and have been using it almost everyday since. I have noticed that my eye lashes have looked thicker and have had less clumps as well as giving it some extra volume. I believe that my mom got this from target for around $5 so it's nice that it also isn't very expensive. I am planning on trying the other mascaras by Maybelline also to see which I like the best because I have herd good things about the other ones as well but this one (and the Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara) is defiantly my favorite to use so far and I highly recommend it!

Neutrogena Shine Control Makeup in the shade Nude 40:  As you can see in the picture on the sticker this product is new. I really love it because it doesn't feel oily when I put it on and it doesn't make my face feel greasy throughout the day. Something else that I like about this is that it has an SPF of 20 so I know my face has some sort of protection against the sun without having to put anything else on it. Like almost all of my makeup I bought this at Target.

Revlon ColorStay Aqua Mineral Makeup: There are actually a lot of things about this product that I actually really like. This is actually a powder but it goes on your skin more like a mousse or liquid foundation and you can feel that it gives your skin instant hydration. It has always been important to me that when I use foundation it doesn't make my skin feel greasy through out the day and I can say that this does a good job at not doing that. It also has tiny little sparkles in it so on a sunny day you can kinda see them on your  face too which is really cool. Personally I have also noticed that it does a good job at hiding my dark circles under my eyes.

NYC City Duet 2 in 1 Lip Color in shade The Penthouse Plums: I don't tend to wear much if any lip stick but 2013 is the year I decided to get out of my comfort zone and give it a try so I started looking for a good one that I can use for special occasions. I was really happy when I found this lip stick because it has two sides to it and on one side it is a nice dark plum color and the other side is a light matte pink color. I really like this because you can have one lip stick for night and day that stays on very well without having to take a lot of makeup around with you.

Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow: The one towards the top of the picture is in the shade Moonlit Jewels and the one towards the bottom is in the shade Not Just Nudes. And as you can see I have already used all of one of the colors. I have always used the more powdery type of eye shadows but I like this one more because it is more of a creme so it stays on a lot better through out the day. I like the nude colors a lot because they go on very nicely when I want to do a smokey type eye and the Moonlit Jewles come in the color of a beigeish/camel color, red, green, and blue. Another nice thing about them is that they are sparkly but not to sparkly so they are perfect for an everyday use or if you want to go out!

So that is all of my 2013 makeup favorites! If you have tried these products too or want to try them tell me in the comments! I am always looking for new makeup to use so comment your 2013 makeup favorites that I should try as well! Have a great rest of your Sunday evening & stay warm!
